Archaeological evidence shows that Highland Cattle were here in the 6th century trudging over the rough terrain of northern Scotland. This would make them the oldest pedigree breed of cattle in the world.

Some years ago I was traveling through Scotland and came across a small herd of these amazing animals standing in a field with some sheep. It had only just stopped raining, leaving a grey mystical atmosphere and the large white mansion contrasting in the background gave the scene a very unique look.
